To My Son

To My Son

Oh how the years go by,
Oh how time can certainly fly.
From once just a thought in far away dreams,
now into my arms and in my eyes gleam
the presence of you.
Your laughter and smiles
which go on for miles,
warms my heart and soul.
You're growing up so fast,
as I wish each moment with you to last forever.
My little boy will someday be a man
and right by your side I will forever stand.
I will pick up the pieces when you fall,
I will hold your hand and help you stand tall.
And when the day comes when you are on your own,
never feel that you are alone.
No matter how near or far apart
I am always right there in your heart.
Always remember whatever you go through
that no matter what, I will always love you.

Summer is Here

The sky is so blue, not a cloud to be seen.
The Earth is a painting with every shade of green.
The chirping of birds, as they gracefully fly by,
amidst the golden hue of the lustrous sky.
The flowers are so fragrant, the trees are their shield,
or under the scorching heat a breeze they should feel.
The voices of children, as they play in the park.
It is a definite sign, summer has made its mark.

Summer

Summer is my favorite time
Its a juicy piece of fruit to dine
Its watermelon and corn--
Its a beautiful sun-lit morn
Summer is the best of all
Its jumping rope, and playing ball
Its lemonade and ice tea
Its ants, and bugs, and honey bees
Summer is the most fun
Its a happy, smiling, warm sun
Its chasing butterflies, outside
Its fireflies...at even-tide
Summer is by far, great
Its sleeping in, and staying late
Its hikes, its bikes, and climbing trees
Its bumps, bruises, and skinned knees
Summer is the one, I adore
Its seashells and sea shores
Its buckets, shovels, filled with sand
Its beaches, bikinis, and golden tans
Summer is my favorite season
Without a doubt, and good reason
Its fishing ponds and swimming pools
And best of all there is no school.

Hope

Hope looks for the good in people
instead of harping for the worst.

Hope opens doors where despair
closes them.

Hope draws its power from a
deep trust in God and the basic
goodness of human nature.

Hope "lights a candle" instead of
"cursing the darkness."

Hope regards problems, small or
large, as opportunuties.

Hope pushes ahead when it would
be easy to quit.

Hope is a good loser because it
has the divine assurance of final
victory.

A Christmas Creed

I believe in Jesus Christ and in the beauty
of the gospel begun in Bethlehem.
I believe in the one whose spirit glorified a little town;
and whose spirit still brings music to persons all over the world,
in towns both large and small.
I believe in the one for whom the crowded inn could find no room,
and I confess that my heart still sometimes
wants to exclude Christ from my life today.
I believe in the one who the rulers of the earth ignored
and the proud could never understand;
whose life was among common people,
whose welcome came from persons of hungry hearts.
I believe in the one who proclaimed
the love of God to be invincible:
I believe in the one whose cradle was a mother's arms,
whose modest home in Nazareth had love for its only wealth,
who looked at persons and
made them see what God's love saw in them,
who by love brought sinners back to purity,
and lifted human weakness up to meet the strength of God.
I confess my ever-lasting need of God:
The need of forgiveness for our selfishness and greed,
the need of new life for empty souls,
the need of love for hearts grown cold.
I believe in God who gives us the best of himself.
I believe in Jesus, the son of the living God,
born in Bethlehem this night, for me and for the world.

Their Heart is My Home

Familiar warmth greets
the moment I step into my parents heart
a nest that is always there
for me right from the start

A place where I am
embraced for who I am
where the child within me
runs care free like a little lamb

Every tear and every outbursts
of anger that I pour
is never left unheard
or shut behind the door

It is a garden where
love and unity strives
no matter the difficulty
to my calls help always
arrives

Every corner of their heart
is tender to my touch
whenever I knock upon
I'm welcomed and content
like sitting on a comfy couch

My parents heart
is where my home is
day or night far or near
there, my mind is truly at ease
